I'm hoping someone here can help me. I have been using this CCTv viewing system (the backupviewer) in work (which uses a windows platform) no problems. However when I tried to play it at home (on an iMac) it didn't recognise the bakupviewer player whatsoever. I clicked on it and all that came up was a weird text file instead of the media player itself??

Macs don't run Windows exe files. You'll need to use something like Bootcamp or Parallels to get a Windows instance on your Mac to use, unless BackupViewer has a Mac client.

Or you could connect to the PC remotely with Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection (free).
