    Hi All

Just got reminder in the post today that i got a parking ticket in Drogheda 2 weeks ago with my van reg on it.

the thing is that the van has been off the road for the past year with a cracked gearbox and is siting here in the yard with briars growing around it.

What should i do? and how do i prove that it wasnt me or my van?

    thanks

Ring them, explain, and see if they have a photo.

Ring them and ask. I got a parking fine a few months ago here (on a day I was nowhere near where the "offence" had taken place ) and when I rang them, they told me that the reg number had come up as a mis match on their system as the car that was ticketed was a different make and model to mine. Sure enough, I got the letter in the post a few weeks later stating that my appeal had been successful.

Funny though how it was that my appeal was successful and not that they had made a mistake in the first place .

They might want to hire some literate parking wardens or at least send them to specsavers :D.

It may be a "typo" error, or more worringly someone may have cloned your number plate.

Ask them for a photo is possible to verify.
