I am arranging a golf outing for next April for a group of 8, as we have gotten tee-times for the old and castle courses. Anybody recommend the best way to get over there, places to stay\eat or any other advice?
    Thanks

We stayed in a town called Cupar which was approx 20mns from St Andrews but is very central to a lot of the great courses in the area. Eden House is where we stayed and the owner and staff were very helpful in organising the golf for us, excellent food and overall a great place to stay.

thanks for the advice. Most are heading from Dublin, so I was thinking of driving to Belfast, and flying from there to Dundee with flybe.com (which according to the University website is 15 miles away). I'll then probably hire a van to pick us up

Going there again this year in a couple of weeks time.

This thread started 3 years ago...

Also some more details here - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055446383

I think we are flying Aer Lingus this year (to Edinburgh).
The bus that picks us up is from a company called Saint Andrews Executive Travel as far as I know...
Staying in the Greyfriars Hotel... they can cater for all 16 of us easily.
1 Golf Place is is worth a look for your smaller group as it's location is ~half a gap wedge from the 18th green of the Old Course.
We're playing the Castle course next year... not sure of the mechanics of getting ourselves and our clubs to that course as I believe it's a bit out of town whereas all the ones we play are grouped together so all are an easy walk from the hotel.

licksy...we stayed in the fairmonts out of town one year....hotel ran courtesy buses to the town every hour and also to any of the golf courses we were going to play...Thge castle course is next door to the fairmonts as well...check with the hotel your staying at.....we used st andrews executive travel from edinburgh this year and it was spot on...pick up our bags at the hotel on the way back then came and got our golf gear from the clubhouse when we had finished golfing....

Lycksey, Enjoy your golf trip. Made an application myself last evening to the Trust seeking a tee time on the Old Course at the end of March 2011 ( 28th or 29th). When will I know if I am accepted. If get one of the above dates I can then contact the Jubilee and Eden courses. Hoping to go Sunday and back Wednesday. Meeting up with my son who travelling up from Brighton.

    Hi,
Am thinking of going next september but can't book a tee time now the only way to get a tee time would be in the ballot anyone have any experience of getting a tee time this way there would be 7/8 of us so its a few to get out in the ballot.
    Thanks Mike

Got word this evening that I am on the time sheet for the Old Course StAndrews on Tues.29/March/2011 @ 12.40pm. How do I now get tee-times for the Eden and Jubilee courses. Tried the online facility but getting no where. Do I ring Reservations directly? Need to get golf for Monday 28th and Wednesday 30th,
