the site's in dublin to choose from

    HRTA (swords)

    OFFICE BLOCK (tallaght)

    HellFire(bray)

    Redbarn (swords)

    Oakridge (saggart)

as for teams its just a case of turning up and meeting players and getting involved with like minded people who enjoy airsoft ,its not an essiential part of airsoft to be part of a team ,but there loads of teams based at the above sites who will glady assist you if you want to be part of a team

Welcome aboard! First thing to know in this situation is that, like paintball or karting, you don't need to be on a team to play. You just turn up to a site and the folks on the day will be divided up into red and blue or whatever, and if you want to be with your mates you can ask them to make sure that happens, and if you want to shoot your mates you can ask them to make sure that happens instead.

There's a pretty comprehensive list of venues around the country here:

Good luck, and hope to see you out there (down my scope, of course).

You certainly wouldn't be laughed at turning up in camo, most people do (and some go far beyond that, even - ghillie suits, helmets, armour plate vests and drop-leg holsters will all be knocking around) but you don't have to - once you've got boots with good ankle support for legging it about uneven ground and clothes you don't mind getting down on the ground in, you're good to go. Boots and eye protection is all you need, and sites will generally rent you eye protection if you need it.

It'd be worth your while getting an electric gun to play with instead of the bolt-action one though. There's a knack to being effective with a sniper rifle and it's a drawn-out and involved process to learn and until you do you probably wouldn't be having much fun with it, rather getting frustrated. With an AEG you have a lot more flexibility, meaning you can hide and take pot-shots when needed, and you can storm a building screaming when needed. You can rent an AEG of course, but if you're sure you're in for the long haul you might as well get your own - rentals have a hard life and aren't too reliable.

sweet... yeah do you know is there anything on this weekend?? il probably rent a gun first then buy a proper smg or assault rifle as the sniper would prob be in a pain in the ass as you have pointed out

For more information I would suggest going here:
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=1119

Most of your questions would be answered here. If not, just ask. This has a list of the sites and directions/co-ordinates.

    Then go here:

and you will be able to find out whats happening at the nearest site you.

Oh, and welcome. You won't regret it.
