Guys,,I thought I knew about Renaults until I saw this Clio on Donedeal. I suspect its just a Dealer Special Edition though the owner swears that Williams is on the Centre cap of the alloys and thats it a very rare car....
I could stand corrected on this one. I would have an interest in it if its clean, regardless of whether is what he says it is, or a std. Clio 16V.

    Yours thoughts please!

It may be a 16V made to look like a Williams.

    Some info here:

Isn't this just a clio 16v with a few williams bits bolted on by a previous owner ?
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renault_Clio

It's now neither a Clio 16v nor a Clio Williams, so probably worth less than an original Clio 16v never mind a Williams.

Edit; Beaten to it by Dave by a couple of seconds....

Sent an email to the seller expressing and interest:rolleyes: but also voicing my concerns as to what it was exactly----he more or less told me that he knew everything about Renaults:eek: and that I knew nothing and that it is what he says it is:confused:

I have a set of those "Turbine Alloys" sitting in my shed, there getting rare these day, they look great on MK1 and Mk2 Golfs, R5 Turbo etc... I cant help you with your query regarding the Clio, I'm not great with the Clio range but what I would say is I think there should be a Gold Plate on the dash with a Williams serial number if its a real Williams! Best of luck! YEAH!

Hum, I am not a expert in renault, but I have seen a couple of them at home.
And this one does not look like a william, if I remember correctly it should be some yellow in the williams label.

Ok I did a quick lookup on internet, and this is more a sort of replica.
Williams the engine is a 2.0L and the wheels are differents, there isn't any sunroof and it looks better definitely.

I believe they took a clio 16 and bought a couple of sticker.

but I am not a expert...

    From wiki:

"Renault also released a warm hatch version of the Clio. It was aesthetically very similar, but with the addition of a 110 PS (81 kW) 1.8 L 8-valve engine, side skirts and disc brakes on all wheels. This was badged as the RSi.

During 1991, a 1.8 L 16-valve engine producing 137 PS (101 kW) (also first seen in the R19) capable of propelling the car to 208 km/h (129 mph) was introduced to the Clio engine range, known simply as the Clio 16S in France (S for "soupapes", the French word for valves), and Clio 16V in export markets. As well as having higher top speed than a regular Clio, the 16S sported wider plastic front bumpers, an offset bonnet vent, wider rear bumpers and uprated suspension and brakes, and colour-coded front mirrors and bumpers. The RSi side skirts were omitted, however. Interior wise, the 16V model had an extended instrument panel that housed dials for engine oil pressure, oil temperature, and oil level (which only indicates on engine start). The seats were also more supportive to match the sporting nature of the model."

He must be the most reclusive renault seller/expert in the world. Googled his mobile and apart from this ad there are a couple of results where he sold civic bits on donedeal.
The genuine Williams (2 litre) didn't appear until 1992 and was the first Clio to have any sort of Williams badging.
The Williams alloys were all gold...these look like 16v alloys with the Williams Megane centre-caps.
    Here's a real 16v to follow on e-bay;

The Renault 5 turbo he is selling is possibly a better buy (once put back to it's original spec).

It's definitely not a williams. Wrong wheels , 2.0 engine, numbered plaque on dash, distinctive bucket seats etc, the side williams badge can be bought. Those wheels have just had their centre caps sprayed

is this not an ordinary clio 16v done up a bit to look like a williams ?
ordinary Clio 16v's had those wheels, the flared arches etc too and were far more plentyful than the Williams versions. From memory the 16v's also had abs which the Williams didn't.

    Have a look at this.

W***er!!! should have blue seats with the williams logo on them be 2 liter and be post 92, numbered plaque's are only on clio williams 1's 2's and 3's had none. there is a guy that lives near me who has a 1 and 2, the sad thing about it is that a 16v clio is rarer now and probably more valuable.
