    HI again,

As I've said before on this I'm only recently self employed. I've been asked to price a new biuld bungalow from the drawing. Could anybody please give me some pointers on where to start and steps to follow. Any questions I should ask etc. I would be very greatfull for any help and advice.

    Thanks again

my wholesalers let us leave the plans in and they work the material cost out for us, however sometimes its hit and miss. they allow so much £ for copper, fittings etc. i'd rather work out myself an idea of what fittings exactly I think I would use then allow a percentage of £ extra for unforseen things!

the last time I priced a new build DPX rad's worked out cheaper than DPC normally. I actually sized up the rooms and priced 2 rads to fit it and then picked the cheaper one. Never undersize rads but every £20 saved helps.

from my point of view work out the rads and pipework for them roughly, dont forget the insulation, clips, valves etc. then work out the boiler size and price up the fittings you need for it and oil line, tank, kbb etc.

maybe go for the hot tank next and pipework needed to pipe it into heating system and the hot water draw offs to bathroom and kitchen sink

then cold water storage tank and piping it to bathroom etc.

dont forget the mains pipework either :)

if your doing the soil stacks then thats all straight forward too
