Indicator Problems

I am having problems with the indicator on my 03 Peugeot 206.

The problem seems to only be on a right turn. Sometimes it won't work, sometimes it will flash a couple of times and stop and sometimes if I hold the indicator lever, it will keep working. The hazzard lights seem to work ok.

I was told that a new indicator switch would be €271 + VAT which is very pricey and was just wondering if there may be anything else causing this problem.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks...

    Pricey switch..
Try a breaker's instead of buying a new part. Might be a LOT cheaper. Alternatively, try get at the switch that you already have in it and fix it.
Holding the lever makes it work so the contact is worn/dirty, scratch the contact with a knife or sandpaper and give it a clean. If that doesn't work, raise the contact a tiny bit with a layer of tinfoil. Nothing complicated in switches. Two bits of metal and maybe a spring

had a similar prolem with my 307. it couls be the indicator bulb holder. as mawk said try raisint the contact. or what worked for me was actually just swapping the left and right bulb holders.

    Thanks for the info.
I'll try cleaning the contact and if that doesn't work will try swapping the bulb holders....

    Much appreciated....

    Thanks..
