For anyone shopping on here, if you have firefox, I'd suggest using the Invisible hand add on, it saved me a fortune (basically it tells you where you can find the same product cheaper so you can order from a number of different sites, hopefully saving even more!)

Did they give a reason for the delay?

We bought a bike which was a lot cheaper than down here in Smyths or Halfords...
It seemed to take them 3 working days before the email came saying it was ready in Blanchardstown
Am planning to go this weekend but didnt know what time they close

Always found toys'r'us to be a little more expensive than smyths.I shop up North once a month but not much of a difference between Smyths up there and down here this year round so bought Toys down here

I know this is an old thread - but just to let anyone interested know that ToysRus now deliver anywhere in Ireland - maybe some restriction son very large items see more here

I believe Smyths (Family owned Irish company) beat sthem on price on almost everything - both here and the UK where Smyths have been growing at a phenonemal rate.

There was arumor in the trade a while ago that Smyths were going to buy them out, but opted instead to build their own network of stores.

I also got email from smyths today saying they deliver if you spend over €49!

I checked a load of nursery stuff for price in both Smyths and Toysrus, Smyths cam out best on everything. Surprising.

Smyths unfortunately have a very narrow range of toys. The other shops which had wider ranges have all but gone, since Smyths dominated the market here. As a result you'll find things (Occasionally) in other stores like toys r us that you won't in Smyths.

Amazon on the whole is cheaper than both....

Just so people know, not everything in their catalogue is available to buy online, an example is a doll I was looking for was not available to buy online, wasn't bulky, I just couldn't purchase it online so just to be careful for people.

Amazon on the whole is cheaper than both....

Probably on the whole but take this for example -

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lalaloopsy-Silly-Hair-Jewel-Sparkles/dp/B004Z6HDNM/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1319667834&sr=8-1-spell

Stg 29.99 at Amazon, I got it in Smyths for €27.99 (on sale), pays to shop around though

You'd have to add delivery to that too.

yes, you have to shop around, but also know that todays special offer may be gone tomorrow. Normal Amazon price = 49.99

Heaton have also moved strongly into toys, so watch for a price war between heatons, argos & smyths.
