Budget Wedding Abroad - Venue Ideas?

Hi, I'm hoping to get married abroad in June 2012. My OH wants a really unusual venue - such as a vineyard or a country house/farmhouse. I've been looking online and found a place that he liked that seemed perfect. but after looking into it a bit further the venue hire (nearly 4000) doesn't include food, alcohol, flowers, music - which makes this 4000 fee a bit steep. It includes a wedding designer, wedding planner, master of ceremony and exclusive use of the venue which makes it sound like they're offering a lot but it really doesn't equate to much IMO...

We're both in college so we don't want to spend a fortune. Does anyone know of any similar venue or any way that we could try to bargain with the place we found? I'd really appreciate any help I can get.

    Thanks,
    Dreais

I live at a vineyard and its not very exciting. Also if your talking vineyards, its normally means ridiculous amount of money...especially in France. A bottle of wine from this vineyard costs at least €450 for one bottle.

Maybe look into an olive grove near Palermo, that would be alot cheaper and just as nice as a vineyard.

I would also consider how many guest you expect to invite. Especially during the recession, I know people who wont even go to weddings in Dublin because they cant afford to give a money gift to the couple, let alone get a flight abroad, pay for hotels etc and hair and makeup as well as food and drink while on the trip.

If its just your parents, then get married anywhere. If you expect 50+ people to go to wedding, do they even have jobs? can you get to the city cheaply? will cheap flights still exist by the time you get married?

If you want somewhere unusual but not too far from Ireland. I would suggest Minack Theatre in Cornwall. It is by the sea and definitely no where else like it in the world. You can fly to exeter from Dublin or Newquay. Also can fly with Ryanair from Stansted to Newquay. Mine bonus is they speak English. If you dont speak another European language it would be difficult to sort things out in another language.

Isle of Man? Cheap and quick to travel there, picturesque, low prices due to low tax.
You could also open a bank account with any cash gifts :)
