Crabs again

HI, I have read an earlier post here on this embarrassing subject. I too think I may have crabs. I have read with interest the previous post and was wondering if Lyclear is available over the counter as I really couldn't face going to GP. And will pharmacist know its for crabs or is this the type also used in kids hair for head lice?

Also any tips on telling hubby? I haven't been with anyone but him, since we've been married and can't figure out where I got them. He goes nowhere but the garage outside to work, so unless he's been making love to his cars I have no idea how I got them! But I know he'll be wondering, and this is embarrassing enough without having to explain to him what I have and no idea how I got them.
Could I have got them from a bed in a hotel? Thats the only thing I can think of - or trying on a pair of jeans?
    Thanks in advance

Yes you could get them from a hotel bed, or from trying on clothes which someone else had tried on. Got talk to your chemist, it will depend but you may still have to go to the dr and I would suggest boil washing your bed clothes.

The best advice I can give for telling your hubby is to just be flat out honest with him about it. Make it clear that you're telling him because you have nothing at all to hide.

The last thing you want is for him to find out about it before you tell him so just sit him down and explain it to him that you've no idea where you caught them from but you're telling him because he should know and you're being 100% honest with him.

I would imagine if someone was cheating that they'd try to hide the issue until it has cleared up to be honest, so he should note that.

Yup, it's available over the counter. the pharmacist may ask you what it's for though (used for head lice, crabs, scabies), just to give you instructions on how to apply it, although instructions are also provided in the leaflet. There's nothing to be embarrassed about, OP. GPs see this all the time and pharmacists sell this medication everyday. As Thaedydal said, wash your clothes and bedding on a high temperature, that'll get rid of the pesky mites!

However, I'd recommend going to your GP (or a different one if you're not comfortable seeing your regular one), it may not be crabs at all.

Firstly, forget Lyclear. You need Derbac M, which on the same shelf as Lyclear, and you shouldn't have to actually ask the pharmacist for it. Also, they won't ask you what it's for - but it's specifically for crab lice and for the extra heavy infestations of hair lice that most kids get (I've used both on my son, lyclear was useless, but derbac m was brill).

Just tell your husband - I know two people who got them from hotel bed sheets (both of them hadn't had sex with anyone a very long time before they got them, so there was no possibility of catching them that way).

I would also recommend going to your gp though - unless you can actually SEE the little feckers on your pubic hair, they may not be crabs - it may be an itch caused by something else. And you do need to tell your hubby, because he needs to be treated as well!
