3 sim card not working in iPhone 3GS

Hi,

Hoping somebody can help me out as threes customer service hasn't done much. I have a iPhone 3GS that was on o2 and had been officially unlocked by them when I left them. I ported over from o2 yesterday and the signal dropped on the o2 sim so I put in the three sim it accepted it but has no signal and no three icon. I tried resetting the network settings with no joy. I also tried the new sim in an old nokia and it worked straight away on three with full reception. Anybody have an answer for this??

I have to be missing something stupid.

Did you update the carrier settings through itunes?

No in didn't that must be it. Didn't realize I'd have to do that.
