What price could I get a battery for a 1.9 Diesel Bora at? I cant afford a top quality battery so a cheap one will do. €80-€90 seems to be the best I have come across but even that seems a bit expensive.

Unless you take your chance with one from a scrap yard you won't get cheaper, batteries for diesel cars have high amps rating and are relatively expensive.

There are certain things which I believe we shouldn't opt for the cheap option on, tyres/batteries, next it'll be the cheapest oil etc, your car will give out what you put in, if you fit cheap parts and opt for cheap solutions, I would be prepared for the expensive fix down the line.

Just my tuppence, but as the last poster mentioned you could check a scrap yard or local garage who might have one lying around.

You will just have to bite-the-bullet and buy a half decent one.

Dont go cheap, if you do it will probably fail in 1-2 years. A decent battery should last at least 4 years

Considering a good quality battery will last for 4 to 5 years I think spending €80 on one is a good investment. Cheap batteries can be a false economy.
