I saw on a different post that the MNU was a free Legal Aid service.

Would anyone happen to know , if they would cover the cost up front for an Independent Medical Report?
I had previously contacted a Solicitor, who told me the cost of an Independent Medical Expert to look over medical records would be, estimated £2000.

I wouldnt have that money at the moment, so wondered if ANY Solicitor would handle that cost up front? Im thinking most likely not, but am hopeful :)

    Thanks for any help.

I think it depends on how good the case is? my solicitor covered a medical report from a UK consultant which cost €1500 because i have a good case and he knew that he would get it back in the end so we had an arrangement.

This sounds trite, but try asking them.

If you go in and visit them they should be able to tell you straight away.

The MNU do cover the costs of reports, if they are deemed necessary. They'll assess your case themselves before deciding whether to engage an expert.

Whats the story of the pimping of certain solicitors on this (and another) thread? 10 minutes of intensive googling would give you a good idea of who a good solicitor in this area is, but i wonder if that has been done in this case.

IDK.. it's in the charter that if a poster asks specifically then it's ok to supply them with info. But I think maybe we should re-evaluate that.
