    Hello,

I am registered for self-employed and I have returned a Form 11E. My main source of income is as an employee but I also Pay & File each year because I have other non-PAYE income.

I had no non-PAYE income for 2009 but I have non-PAYE income for 2010 of about €3,000. I haven't paid any preliminary tax for 2010.

What's the penalty if I don't pay any preliminary tax this year for 2010?

    Thanks.

    Hi

If you have no self assessed income in 2009 then you do not have any preliminary tax to pay in 2010. You may decide to pay some anyway so as to ensure that you don't run into cashflow difficulties in October 2011. At that time you could conceviably have to pay the balance of 2010 as well as the same amount of tax again for preliminary tax for 2011.

    kind Regards
