What's the general consensus on wearing shorts with boots or heels? Something along the lines of this or this.

I'm not entirely convinced; I think it looks good on some, but I don't think it's something that everyone can pull off, but as for whether or not I like it, I don't know.

Also, what kind of age group would wear it? Is it mainly for teenagers/early 20s or is it something that can span all ages (within reason, obviously).

To be honest, it's not something I could wear, so I suppose I haven't given it much thought, but having seen a few girls wearing it (with dark tights) over the weekend with various degrees of success, it got me thinking about it.

(apologies about the pics, they were the best I could find to try explain what I meant).

I've seen photos of "celebs" wearing shorts with heels/boots where it does look good, very stylish and even classy. Unfortunately I've seen about 50 times more photos of people, and seen people walking round who don't look remotely stylish or classy with the same outfit. It can look very cheap here when you see girls on a night out with bare legs and shorts (I think warmer climates make it look more natural, to me it just looks desperate to follow fashion when it's bloody freezing here).

As you said, there are varying degrees of success. I'm short and not the slimmest so it's not a trend I'll be trying, but this doesn't seem to have put a lot of people with similar figures off! Can't decide whether to say fair play to them for being brave or telling them to go and put on a pair of decent pants or a nice skirt!

i love the look (with tights only) i have a fab tweedy wool pair of shorts that i wear with thick tights and slouch knee boots, i team them with chunky jumpers to make it cosy looking. (im not in my twenties btw!)

Saw a few girls the other day in shorts.

Black heels, wine thick tights, grey winter shorts, looked really nice.

Saw another girl in black pattern tights, black shorts, didn't like.

The worst was white tights, denim shorts, her legs looked frozen from distance. (was only the white tights) looked awful.

I've seen a lot of girls on campus wearing the shorts/tights look. Some get away with it others don't. Can't really remember what footwear they had on:o It seems to be the 'in' look for them. Have to say anyone who I've seen wearing them have been very young (17-21ish) (and usually very slim)
