Hi I have just started my own jewellery business. I am looking for inspiration on where to sell & promote the business.
    I have a website & a Facebook page.
I am only in business about 3 weeks & have had 4 jewellery parties & have another booked but really need some other ideas.
    Thanks for your help

Indigomoon1980, I'm not sure what kind of jewellery you are selling or where you are located. It's great that you have the website and facebook page in these modern time.

However, if I were you I would be trying to think of events that people attend where jewellery is essentail wearing. I know men wear certain types of jewellery, but I am assuming that women will be the main buyers/wearers of your jewellery or maybe, on the other hand, men are the main buyers as they could buy jewellery for their girlfriends/mothers etc.

I would be creative in my promotion. Obviously, you would have your local newpapers. However, with jewellery I would be careful what way you chose to promote it as you do not want to cheapen your brand with tacky ads.

I would seriously cosider targeting 6th year secondary school students for their debs night. It's a big market. Maybe in your local area you could find out what venue these debts will be held in and do a deal with the venue that they mention your jewellery when liasing with the school about the debs night.

I would also consider wedding magazines, having brochures in dress shops and hairdressers. You could also try posters in these places to. I think the most important thing when promoting jewellery is that it is percieved as exclusive. So, be careful with the quality of paper you use, the colours of your ads and also the font used etc. Maybe discuss this with a graphic designer?

I would also try to think creatively about men who will be buying gifts for their girlfriends. You are lucky that you have both Christmas and Valentine's Day coming up. Maybe to start off you could try some lads mags, even put somes signs up in the lacal gym, anywhere you think you could get a lad's attention.

OK I'm spent and all out of ideas. Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes. Well done for taking the initiative to start a business in these times. I wish you all the best.

This angle I like. Something for the man who can't get to the jewelry store

If a large part of your business will be your website you should change it around quite a bit. It looks OK, but only so. You don't have a strong brand representation, and the overall style of the site looks quite outdated at this stage. This isn't really the forum for going in to specifics of the website, but you can post in the website reviews forum for detailed discussion.

The website is too old hat for me.....it is 1990s web design.
It looks like the website is still catering for dial up internet customers.
My humble opinion....The design is just awfull.

You are selling Jewellery so photos are one of the most important things to get right.

    - Put a rolling banner on the front page similar to this one.
    http://activeden.net/item/magic-xml-banner-rotatorvideo-player-with-thumbs/full_screen_preview/121191

    - Do away with your Special Offers page and put any special offers on the HOME page (curious people finding your home page see this "hook" instantly and will stay browsing - web users want their info quick)

    - Payment Options page should have a form on it to send to your email like this:
    http://activeden.net/item/flash-8-contact-form-with-buttons-checkbox-and-combobox-component/full_screen_preview/28423

    - replace the Guest Book (liable for spam) with a Testomonials Page

    - A Video showing some of the Jewellery

A website is so important to you and I am afraid to say you have got it so wrong.

Good for you starting a business at this time and good luck to you!
