So my current LCD is packing in and im looking at getting something new.

Im looking at either the le46c530 or the UE40C5100. The LED is a bit more expensive, but within my range. Both seem to have the features and connections I am looking for.

Basically im wondering if paying a bit more for a smaller LED is worth it. Does it just come down picture quality? E.g. better blacks. I dont really care about the tv being slimmer as I will be using it on the stand anyway.

Im in the same position as you, its time for an upgrade. I have been learning all about led over the past few days. I have found out LED is LCD but what makes them diff is the bulbs behind the LCD screen, from what I can see you want a LED with local dimming for them great blacks like a plasma.

The LED tv you have there isnt much from what I have seen out there, saw one in harvy norman for euro735, 37inch,100hz,1080p,(no local dimming) etc. I will include a pic of its details the model number is at the bottom left(I cant figure out the 3rd number from the right) so make a guess :)

Looks like the 37c5100. The 37" version of the one I mentioned. Thought the 40" one I saw was 50hz though.

Im not a fan of the 50+hz. Tv shows / films just dont look right imo. I know its great for games though.

Might take another look during the week, but I imagine I will go with the 46lcd. Was just down at a friends who has the 40" version and it seems pretty good. The usb playback was pretty impressive too.

The 40" LED was 770 in Power city so that HN deal is pretty good. Iv had a 40" for the last few years so I think it would always bother me if I got something smaller.

Some tvs give you the option for going to 50htz if you want ad then 50+ when a game needs it, that would be the best of both worlds i guess.

Yeah it is but im still look for that perfect deal between price and quality :D

Did you see anything new around???
