Can't get TV3/TG4 on Rabbit ears

    Hi All,

    Any idea how i get TV3 on the tv with rabbit ears, We put a new Nordmende tv in the kitchen today but can only receive rte1 + 2. I'm in Swords.

    If your aerial is just the 'rabbit ears' (without a loop part on it) then it is just a VHF aerial. You won't pick up TV3 or TG4 on that. You'll need a UHF aerial for those channels.

    You can pick up TV3 with rabbit ears, it's just not as good at it. And the rabbits ears need to be generally shortened and moved about with to get them working better for TV3 and TG4.

    It's basically a case of "keep trying", unless your RTE1 and 2 are very weak as it is.

    Give the Rabbit a Carrot and put a proper aerial in the attic.

    I'd say watty, there could be an issue with not wanting to put a hole in a ceiling to supply said television with a cable from the aerial. In any case, I'd love to know how good RTE1 and 2 are, because if they're perfect then there should be *some* TV3/TG4 signal on the rabbits ears.

    The rabbit ears i have say it picks up UHF & VHF. RTE 1 & 2 are not perfect pictures but do the job.
