replace large water heater

hey all, i have a seriously small bathroom and im am trying to look at ways to fit in a new shower and remove bath. i was looking at moving the existing large water heater and replacing it with a smaller one as i recently installed an electric shower. would this be a very expensive job? any help or ideas would be great…
