There was already a thread on these but they were available at Spar.

My local Mace store is doing their version for €1 also. Picked up a box of 12. Great things and great value at this price. Lasts a few hours in the fireplace and handy if you don't have the fire set for when you get in on a cold evening.

    Good bargain.

Excatly how long do they last for? The ones in Lidl for 1.79 only last 1.5hrs despite it saying 2-3rs on the pack!

My tip.. don't buy Firelogs as a primary fuel source for a fire.

Buy one, cut it in half and use half at a time with some coal / turf to get a fire going quickly.

As a standalone source of warmth, you might as well throw a cardboard box in (it'll burn fine, but it won't last close to what it states on the box). 2 - 3 hours??! Not likely.

Might pick up or two from Mace but wonder how are they are compared to the Spar ones? They're the best of the own-brand's with the Centra one's not too far behind.

ive got loads of pallets cut up and i would get at least 5 fires started with a firelog. :P

    Tried one this aft.

Lights ok, burns ok, not much heat output but that was expected.

I waited for it to burn down (approx 2hrs 30mins), raked the remnants of the log about a bit and then put on some very dry small logs and up they went. Grand fire going now.

    Definitely worth €1.

Wonder how the fire would be if I only put in say 3 of these? Would it give off a bit more heat and would it burn longer?

Some Mace's don't have this offer. Just came back from one on Clonsilla Rd, Dublin and logs were 1.49. However Mace down the road in Blanchardstown village had the offer but I only picked up the last log :(

I picked up some Aldi ones and they say do not cut? That just a safety warning?!

Ha... that's more than likely there so you buy more.
