Question about tax relief on tuition fees

I was looking at doing a course in college and I was looking up the revenue website about tax relief on the fees.

The website says - Tax relief at the standard rate of tax (20%) in the tax years 2009 and 2010 is available for certain tuition fees. The maximum limit on such qualifying fees for the academic years 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 is €5,000.

But say the fees for my course are €7500 for example does that mean that I would only be getting relief on the first €5000 or that I would get relief on the entire amount with the relief being a maximum of €5000.....if my question makes sense.

If anyone knows it'd be much appreciated

The maximum you can claim is 5K, so you'll get a refund of 1K i.e. 5,000 at 20%. If you pay 7.5K you still only get 1K refund.
