    Hi,
I've poked around but can't find any info on SIP to PSTN.

I want to buy a Blueface 076 number that I can dial locally and have it ring a PSTN number in the states.

Can anyone advise whether this is possible, either through pbxes or other means?

I'm a newbie at voip, pls excuse if the question doesnt make sense!

Probably not. Get a blueface account and get an ATA for the person in the states, they can use it as a second line over there. You may also be able to set up forwarding on Blueface so the calls to the 076 number calls the number in the states.

What are the exact limitations and requirements?
Is broadband available at the destination?
Do calls need to be made from multiple locations and from mobile and landline phones?

A little more info might help to sort it out .......

    thanks for the replies...

Basically, I want to be able to forward a call to a SIP number to a landline PSTN in the States.

I'd consider paying a company that provides this service - e.g. a US-based company that can forward a SIP call to a number that I nominate.

I just want one number on each end - one 076/SIP number in Ireland, one PSTN number in the States.

    best,

With Blueface you can divert an 076 number to a PSTN number internationally, without any need for any hardware. We have a call forwarding tool directly on our website.
You'll be charged for the calls from Blueface to the US number.

It might be worth considering getting a geographical number for people to call, as Eircom charges quite a lot for calls to 076 numbers last time I checked.

Also they are not included in any of the bundles .....

    Cool thanks for the info.

I looked into 076 call cost briefly, and found that it was the same as landline. I didn't check Eircom though, I don't know anyone who uses Eircom :P

That's a good tip about the bundles, I hadn't thought about that aspect of it. Most of our calls are local family, I'll find out if they are on bundles...
