ok we're nearly there for DCM 2010 - only a few hours left

    any last minute hydration/nutrition tips?

i'm planning a nice big bowl of pasta and veg this evening plus some grazing on doritos while watching Run Fat Boy Run just to further stoke the excitement :)

my stomach is not the best in the morning so it will be a half bagel and a pint of water for breakfast for me at 6.45 (might also have a powerbar too).

oh and drinking lots of water - i hear that helps too :)

Pin that number to your shirt and lay out your gear tonight. Don't forget your running shoes, and set your alarm. Better to get there earlier, rather than late.

    check, check and check.

I'm planning on being near the start line between 8 and 8.15 and finding the pacer balloons so i can take off near enough to them.

Don't worry if you don't sleep well tonight. You'll run just as well tomorrow with 4 hours sleep as you will with 8 hours.

Pacers won't be there until 8.30, so don't panic if you can't see them at 8.15!

Just try and relax. The most important bit is resting the body, so try to stay in bed even if you're not sleeping. The adrenaline of tomorrow will be stronger than any mental tiredness you have from not sleeping.

I ran it last year so my advice would be:

    - Don't do a single thing differently than you do for a normal long run.

    - Enjoy it - As far as possible, do not concentrate on the length of the run ahead of you. Keep your head up, enjoy the sights on the route, enjoy the fresh air. Enjoy the fact that Dublin is closed down for you. This really helped me last year. I only started to feel pain around 21/22 miles. Usually I would be dying. In training, I always had my iPod on. But during the race, I was enjoying the experience so much I didn't turn it own until the last mile.

    - As has been mentioned, don't worry about tonight's sleep quality. It won't make much difference.

    - I'm not sure if this made much difference, but, in my head, I had decided to run the dreaded last 6.2 miles at the start, then after 6.2 miles I thought 'Right, that's the horrible miles done, now the straight forward 20'. Kind of a psychological help.

Anyway, best of luck to all runners. I am so jealous of you right now.
