Why do people insist on putting as many random words as possible in the search section of donedeal? Its ruining done deal as you have to filter past so much irrelevant sh!te to find what you are looking for.

    This clown http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/1643475 being a prime example, he is selling a 2001 petrol Golf GTI yet if you search for any of the following words in donedeal his stupid ad comes up, most of what he has included wont help him sell(motorbikes, tractors, vans, classic cars, rwd cars, cars costing multiples of his piece of overpriced crap), all it does is piss people off;

civic, dohc, vti, v tech, eg, ek, dc5, omega, mv6, eco tech, redtop, gsi, calibra, caviler, carlton316, 325, sierra, capri, escort, twincam, mark 2, m3, m5, s13, s14, s15, drift, diff, 135, 35, tractor, nsr, cbr, vfr, gsx, gsxr, fireblade, levin, golf, skyline, integra, galanza, van, partner, rwd, turbo, drift, diff, lancer, mivec, integra

I agree. I typed in 09 passat last night and a boxy 88 civic saloon was on the list...

Its guys taking advantage of DoneDeals shockingly primative search engine.

I agree tho; its incredibly annoying. I feel like emailing some of these idiots and asking them why they think if Im searching for a Skyline or Integra Id have the slightest bit of interest in their Golf. The mind boggles...

All they'd have to do is limit it to 5 words or so, that would force people to be more accurate.

    Or just search the headings:rolleyes:

Report the adverts. I reported one for keyword spam and it was taken down.

I know I've said it before, but there's a boardsie called DonnaDoneDeal who says that they're working on a new search engine for vehicles to stop that.

DeVore has also said that Adverts is tying in with some existing car search engine to overhaul the Adverts car search too.

Speaking of donedeal, im seeing a 'trend' where a car appears for say, 4k on donedeal and then on carzone - often the same day -for about 1.5k higher. I dont know if dealers are snapping up cars for resale or what, but some of these are happening on the same day, with different photos on each site

I had wondered about all those keywords, they are a right pain. I searched for Lexus one night and got every piece of crap with 'Lexus' lights, two pages before I found a Lexus.

If the people putting up these terrible adverts spent the time they spend typing those keywords into composing a proper advert with decent photos they might be able to sell their car

Also wondering about this. Found a car on Carzone, so gave its phone number a quick google and find it for sale on DoneDeal as well for €350 extra. The DD page has been updated in the past few days, still with the higher price and extra photos compared to Carzone.

Another useful feature on donedeal would be if they had a feature to exclude adverts without a price or with POA. These "cute hoors" are seriously annoying.

Yeah its pretty annoying, especially when they give you the option of an "advanced" search and you end up getting all this crap.

I agree with the whole limiting keywords to 5 or 6 words and also say setting the time for an advert to be posted to an hour so it gives them time to check adverts for this cr*p and reject it..

If I see it on adverts.ie I tend to report the ad immediately, but the whole spam thing on donedeal is a bit hit and miss..

    Yeah i hate that also.

And i can't understand why someone would put their car up dirty, unhoovered etc.

Clean the thing and put in a good photo and half the battle is done.

Yeah that annoys me too, another one that i cannot fathom is why people take photos of their cars at night and all you can see is the headlights, all that says to me is avoid avoid avoid!!

Donedeal is infuriating, Ive been looking around at cars and my god, Im beginning to wonder what planet some people are on!

    1. Pricing, where do people get their prices from? People trying to get 1500 for a >10 year old fiat!

    2. Dirty Cars

    3. No information

    4. Loads of cars with no log books

    5. "lady owner" call PAUL on 087xxxxxxx

    6. Mis- spelt ads, some even have the cars name wrong

    7. The words YOKE , SERIOUS, QUICK , FAST in a ad......pure ****e and makes you look like a tool. A saxo, polo, infact any small car or YOKE isnt fast at all, and no backbox is "serious" .

    8. People who want you to Email them, and leave no number WTF?

    9. Sellers who when a price is agreed go MIA.

    10. All the points mentioned earlier in thread, especially the photos.

wouldnt you think if you wanted the car sold its a simple matter of cash one way and car the other? Had some joker the other day explaining that his mate was selling the car and he was in London....well, then how the **** do I get the car in my name and how do I know its not nicked?

search with a min price of 100 euros that filters those retards out.

Just on that point - while there might be some bullshìtters out there, I'm sure it's not that unusual for a bloke to list a car for sale on behalf of their girlfriend/wife etc.

Just think its very dodgey, why cant the wife/ girlfriend sell it , the bloke can show the car if shes not too confident in that side of things. Really they should me3ntion its their wifes car in the ad, along with mileage and number of owners.

Oh and another point 70k miles isnt "low mileage"

I know that my wife would want me to handle the whole thing.

Depends though! It is below average on any car older than 5 years, and for some cars, it would only be broken in at that stage.

Thats fair enough but I'd imagine you would state it in the ad.

My Dads car is only on 30k KMS and its a 2006 Civic. Thats low mileage or Kilometerage?:pac:. 70k isnt IMO regardless of year. Its average. Having never bought a new car, I maybe wrong but isnt most warranty on a car up to 100k miles?
