    Hi,

Today I was browsing away with no problems. Next thing the HP Wireless Ass. light goes from blue to orange. No wireless. I have rebooted many times (as this has happened before and a reboot usually sorted it) to no avail. I uninstalled the Ass. and reinstalled it. No joy. I am, in my limited capacity, out of ideas. I don't want to drop it to a shop yet.

    Anyone any ideas?

    Thanks

ps. i am typing this on a different laptop obviously.

did you try going into device manager to see if your wireless card is there. I had this problem with my hp and when i used go into device manager and check for change it use to fix it sometimes... the wireless went totally after a while though and had to send it back to hp...

by check for change i mean click scan hardware for changes..

Uninstall driver from device manager, and reboot. Should that fail, just get a newer driver. Have auto-update on? If the latest driver is less than a week old, consider gettting the 2nd newest driver, as the new driver may have knocked your wireless off?

Have you checked the physical wireless switch on the laptop? Mine goes from blue to orange if switched off.

    Finally got it sorted.

I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it. Updating the driver. Went through device manager (showed all working fine). Physically the light would stay orange even if the machine was telling me the Ass. was on. All of this and nothing worked.

I used a system restore and it all works as normal now.

I have no idea what happened, but thanks for the replies.
