Because it is not needed. Google cargo cults and read about the similarities running through our property mania.

I saw it on the front of the Munster Express. Not opening any time soon.
Some of the story is here and more in the paper, it says.

'The Council had no contact with the developer and could not ask when it was due to open and they did not know the identity of the anchor tenant.'

This seems to hint at the problem.

Why would any retailer open a shop in a relatively small suburb, during a deep recession? With the fact that the city centre is strengthening and a new city centre shopping centre will most likely be built when the recession has run its course.

The Ferrybank shopping centre should never have been built. The more time passes the more this will become apparent.

The whole thing stinks to high heavens. Were the people built it paid in full? Is there someone out there walking around carrying the financial brunt of this?

Shall close this as there are multiple threads on the shopping center all discussing the same thing. I would merge, but there are several topics some pretty old and some fairly new. So I would suggest reading over those and perhaps, if still in doubt, bumping the newer one. :)
