I have a Desire from 02 that I got unlocked after purchasing it, Now that 2.2 is available I'd like to update my phone but I'm a bit worried that it will remove the sim unlock. Anyone done this before? I did try to run through the upgrade but it failed as I'm guessing it did not like the rooted device :(

If you have it rooted put a rooted 2.2 ROM on it.
The official 1 will remove root access.Doubt it would affect the simlock though
