Some day of snooker today, down to the last 16 now and there were two maximum breaks.16 year old Thanawat Thiripongpaiboon ( spelling mign'nt be correct!! ) became the youngest pro to make a max although he eventually lost 4-1. The other max came from Mark Williams. Ken Doherty is through to the last 16. I'll post the results here tomoro night.

Doherty just beat Hawkins 4-1 with a 119 clearance in the last, plays possibly Marcus Campbell in the semi's. Should Ken win this event he'll qualify for the televised final stages in March.

Marcus Campbell beat Liang Wnbo 4-0 in final.

Great show from Ken. His ranking should get a good boost from this.

Ken currently 45th in the PTC rankings, as I said a win yesterday would have given him enough points to climb into the top ten and qualify for the grand final next March.
However he is currently ranked 30th on the overall list and with this good weekend of match practice behind him a good run at the UK and Welsh should bring him closer to the top 20.
