FaceTime abroad problems!!

    Hi.

    I'm currently unable to make contact with my dad who is on holidays in France. We both have iPhone 4's and are both on wifi yet facetime will not work when he trys to access it in France.

    Can anyone tell me any possible reasons for this. Is there something simple we could do to get this working?

    Has he got it activated on his iPhone? It has to be set to On.

    Yes he has it on. Worked perfectly from the wifi in Dublin airport cause he called me via facetime from there. But now that he's in Paris it won't allow him to call. Just keeps telling him facetime is unavailable.

    does the network he's on in france allow international texting, it sends a message to a uk number to activate facetime

    Not sure what's going on, both of you download yahoo messenger app it allows video calling so try that as a back up. If he's jailbroken tell him download my3g from cydia and he can use it on 3G if wifi is the problem
