I have to write a short paper on the defamation act and blasphemy law. The defamation part is fine, there's plenty of info available for me to indulge myself. However I find the blasphemy part a bit vague. So I have a few questions if you don't mind.

    1. Let's say I were to publicly burn a bible and call the catholic church a cult, could a successful action be brought against me?

    2. What defenses would I have?

Also, is it clearly stated anywhere what defines a religion? Would it be up to the church to prove they are not a cult?
