Suzuki Vitara Ignition Start Problems??

I have a 94 Suzuki Escudo (Jap Import), it's the same as the Vitara. Never had any problems with it until this week. After driving for approx 40mins, I switched off the engine. Literally 2 mins later I got back in and it wouldn't start - not a tick out of the engine, same as if the battery was completely flat.

Originally thought it was battery problems. I checked the battery and everything was fine. After a couple of hours I tried starting it again and it worked perfect?? Which would definitely rule out any battery issues.

After driving for around 90mins yesterday the same thing happened again. Going to bring it to a mechanic but it'll prob be Tuesday or Wednesday before I get to one. Anyone any ideas what could be causing this?

The only thing I can think of is that something is heating up and only functions again after it cools down. Short 20 minute drives are fine, starts and stops no bother.

Narrowed it down to the starter. Happened again today and gave the starter a few belts and it was back working. Coincidence about the journey lengths...
Time to get a new starter

It's probably a good idea to check the main earth to the engine(or gearbox) as well while you are fitting the starter.
You will have the battery disconnected so take the opportunity to clean up battery connections as well.
