Hi Guys, Just back from a failed NCT. I failed for a nearside front axle suspension test. It was 57Mm nearside and 33mm offside with an imbalance of 42% The rear axle was fine. Does anyone know what this means and can you advise on where to go from here. The NCT guy said news suspensions were very expensive :( Its a strange coincidence but the tyre it failed on, has a slow puncture in it, that i spotted on Thursday. Could this be causing such a huge imbalance? There are a few visual/aural defects too but one says the rear suspension systems (55) is worn? What does this mean? Thanks John

Failed the same test a few months back. Had to change the front shocks and it sailed through 2nd time around. Obviously check w/ your mechanic tho. A decent one should know what parts relate to each particular part of the NCT.

Change the front shocks, and whatever component in the rear is worn. Your mechanic should be able to identify it readily.

A mate was quoted 450 from one place and 350 at another so worth shopping around for shocks. Check if it includes fitting and tracking/etc.

Its unlikely to be tyre pressure as the testers check these and adjust if needed.
