I'm looking for a touring frame, or whole bike, but preferably frame. About 58/60cm and steel. Dawes Galaxy, Surly LHT or something along those lines. I've got a 56cm Cannondale cyclocross bike which I would consider swapping.

    Hi Techie,

I have a Specialized Crossroads touring frame that is too big for me. It's a 57cm and it has all the braze on's for touring and cyclocross and is in excellent condition. Here are a few pictures. I am looking for €120 for it.

    HI Techieelectric

This might not be quite what you are looking for but I'm planning to sell my Thorn Audax mk3 steel frame and fork shortly. Its designed for audaxes but to me its halfway between a true audax and a touring frame. Has all the eyelets and fittings for guards and racks.

Its 55cm compact style frame, which in traditional sizing usually equates to 57cm, but I have a pdf brochure of the same frame which has all the sizing details, or you can look up the website here: http://www.thorncycles.co.uk/audaxmk3.html

Below is the ad text i had prepared, and was going to put up here next week, but let me know what you think.

Thorn Audax Mk3 frame and fork
    Size: 55cm (medium) I am 5ft 10 ½ “ and fits me perfect.
Bought 2009, have original bill of sale
Lovely BRG (british racing green) colour. Looked nice with brown leather brooks saddle and bar tape (see pic as it was previously built up). Would look even lovelier with a silver campag groupset.
Rarely used. Couple of tiny scratches and small dent on underside of top tube
    Inside frame tubes rustproofed
Comes with Cane Creek headset – as new condition, and Tektro deep drop brakes
Bought on the strength of this bikeradar review. Lovely classic steel ride. Selling to help fund purchase of a Surly Cross Check frame and fork. (I actually really want to hang onto it, but the higher than expected cost of upgrading is forcing the sale)
    Asking €220.

Thanks for the reply. That would be almost perfect if it were a small bit bigger. I've looked at the Thorn frames, was thinking about getting a club tour. Correct me if I'm wrong but the standover on yours is around 770mm and I'd be looking for a size higher. If it were a racer or anything else I'd probably not mind, just for a tourer I'd like it to be the right size if you know what I mean.

The Thorn audaxes are lovely bikes though, as are all there models really. I'd hate to have to sell it too. Not a drastic change to a Crosscheck though I would have thought.

they are much the same, you re right, really. The cross check was bought for its versatility. it can do cyclo x, touring, singlespeed, fixie and road training. a do it all.

Now leaning slightly towards 26" wheels, so if anyone has a tourer of that style, or mtb that they think might be fairly suitable I'd be interested.

    Hey,

I have a 19" kellys Saphix that I'd be willing to do a deal on, took the suspension forks off currently has a rigid kona fork on it instead.

Let me know if you're interested.

    Thanks

Thanks for the offer, tis a nice bike, too small though, I know you said you're 6'2" but that's with the seat post way up and for touring I don't want that sort of position.

Again thanks for the offer but I fear it'll be too small. Also it's an alu frame and I'd prefer steel.

Post if you've got something that might be suitable by all means, however no offense but this; alu frame, carbon fork, medium frame size, is not what I'm looking for.
