hi guys, our family car is a 2002 Hyundai Trajet (Tragedy). we have an intermittant problem - the engine briefly cuts out. I think its connected with an another ongoing problem, the light bulbs on the front lights of the car keep blowing. I have had the car serviced lately and the mechanic could not find any problems. Yesterday, the car was totally dead, could not start it, but the rear parking lights were on, even though the key was not in the ignition. 5 mins later the car started fine. Has anybody else experienced similar issues withe the Trajet?

well... I drive an 99 accent & have similar issues with the electrics.

As you describe there are intermittent starting problems, bulbs blowing and occcasional surges in powert. I am on my 3rd battery in as many years. Just last Friday the car completely cut out at a roundabout - all electrics went, no warning lights coming on, dead as a dodo. So it appears the battery isn't holding a charge, possibly a regulator issue I am told.

I have had mechanics look at this in the past & they could find nothing wrong, just sold me a new battery each time but am going to see another guy on Tuesday who hopefully will get to the bottom of it.

So it may be your regulator & it might be an idea to have an auto electrician look at it?
    Good luck

Have you fitted anything new like a new radio, spotlights etc in the past?
