Beginner

Alright all, new to this forum and would love to get into playing full 18 golf courses. Have played par 3 before, best round being a 71 using mates clubs.
Thinking of getting my own set, any recommendations for a beginner ? Cheers

This comes up a lot, do a search for "beginner" or "starter clubs" and you will get loads. There's a thread on the next page- bit of advice needed- that also deals with this. The only advice that I would offer is not to get too hung up on getting the latest model of irons, they haven't really changed much in the last ten last years except for the replacement of hybrids for the long irons.

Oh, almost forgot, Get Lessons!!! you can have the fanciest set of clubs in the world, but they will be no use if you don't know how to swing them.

get a second hand set on adverts.ie or something, then you will know after a while what suits u, i did this 80e for a starter set and they do the job. Have a decent driver though

Cheers lads, was thinking of getting lessons aswell do me no harm :rolleyes:. Gonna head to a few golf shops over the week and see whats best for me anyway
