HHD recorders & PC as a PVR/DVR

    Hi all,

    Seems this is a new & up & coming part of HE.

    I have been looking for 2 things I hope someone can help.

    1st is a HHD recorder that would work with Freesat & terrestrial tv here in Ireland. I wanted to get it working for my dad for Christmas. he is on the pension so does not pay for any TV channels. I have seen some out the with lowest price about €200. Can any one bet that?

    2nd for my self I was hoping to use my PC as a PVR/DVR for use with UPC. Would I need a video card with input? Or is there an external unit with could conect USB maybe? any advice would be great.
