Valve advice needed

Hi Guys,

Three questions really, any help would be much appreciated.

- Where is the best place to buy valves?

- I think the power valves in my ENGL Fireball are due a change (they must be at this stage!)... I know they are 6L6, but which specific 6L6s should I use?

- My Mesa Rectoverb combo has brand new valves (came with them when I purchased), but if I'm ordering some for the ENGL, I may as well pick some up for the Mesa... Which should I go with for this? It's a series 1 Rectoverb, so EL34s are not an option... It's gotta be 6L6.

JJ vales from www.eurotubes.com get the nod from boards members.

Personally i prefer Tung Sol or Electro Harmonix for the preamp and Svetlana Winged C's for the power section. Ebay is possible.

Most stock valves are cheapies.....even Mesa are doing this. Change the preamp valves for on of the JJ, EH, Tung Sol etc. brands. You can mix the brands too, which will have an affect on the amps tone.

From a technical point you should use the ones that it came with, not necessarily the same brand though
