Its being repeated on Discovery Turbo & i can't help watching it again.

Its just a good show. The various cars that come into them be it a humble VW golf of a Maserati GT with their respective problems, its a very good format for a tv program. Yeah a few of them are knobheads but its an honest show. Thats kind of refreshing looking at some of the other more mainstream comedy/entertainment car programs out there.

Why did they scrap it? I know obviously the ratings for the show must not have been great or something but why?

In one episode Jock has to turn away a potential customer who didn't book her car in on time - "ITS 9 to 9:30 IN THIS ****IN GARAGE!!!"

    :pac:

That lad Ed Blasi gets on my nerves!!!

Would you believe it if I told you that the "mechanics" on TV weren't actually mechanics at all? Almost everything they said about the cars' problems was all scripted. When you see them doing "work", it's actually done by proper mechanics and the lads just fiddle with stuff while saying their lines.

With that said, I've watched them all so much that I'm sick of the show now! I loved it!

BTW, new series of Wheeler Dealers on Discovery 28th of this month ;)

I've talked to a few people about wheeler dealers.

As much as I respect the two guys in it they also talk a lot of rubbish.

The 30 seconds of doing a job generally translates into a couple of hours work which isn't mentioned in the show

There was something on the discovery channel forums a while back about one of jocks friends in spain going missing and apparently he didnt want to do any more shows after that.

Yeah Glynn was a creep no other words to discribe him. I remeber one of the mechanics hugging his family cos he didn't see them for 2 weeks and Gylnn had a go at him for time wasting:rolleyes: Gylnn is still working there, little lick arse!

In the last series Jock bought an M5, I get the opinion he just did the show to get enough cash for the M5.:D

No. I believe that they do practice the things they say so they dont keep messing up "live" but I cant believe that they would hire that sandy bloke as an actor. I cant understand a thing hes saying.

Two people i disliked on the show. The 'foreman' Glynn the annoying little snitch & that dummy your on about. He was jocks little pet & he didn't seem to be very knowledgable about cars from what i could see. Most of his work seemed to be moving cars in & out of the garage.

Sandy knows his stuff about cars, so does Jock in all fairness. He often diagnosed engine problems well before anyone else. The high end sports car guy knew his cars as well.

Didn't the hamster guy die last year or this I think?Anyway I thought Sandy was a knobhead.Remember the time he just started at the garage and he did not turn up cause he was out the night before and so had a hangover.Jock had a quite word with him about that,But when somebody else done the same thing a while after, he took the high moral ground.Another time some of the apprentices came over to him to ask some questions about something, and he basically told them to F-off.Bit of a prick, socially challenging fella:)

Well from what i can see, he's a hard worker at least. I'l say that much.

That incident your talking about was when that little pint sized blonde girl started in the garage as an apprentice because 'she really liked cars'. She must have fluttered her eyes at Jock to get in. Apprentice mechanic my arse, nothing to do with the cameras im sure.

She walked up to Sandy when he was in the middle of a job & he basically told her to go away because he was busy & didn't want to be bothered.

Also i'd say they all knew fine well she was only there to get on tv. She left not long after. So much for her life long ambition of wanting to become a mechanic.

Ah yeah he did seem to be a good worker alright, and she did not do herself any favours by sunning herself at the door of the garage, but to me he didn't come across as all that nice.Could be just her he didn't like and you may be right about her wanting just to be on TV.Wayne was a bubbly character though. Its a pity there is not a new series of the programme.Have to make do with Mike Brewer I suppose:(:)

Agree totally some of the way they treated cars was horrendous like holding a convertables roof up with self tappers (they also sat on the folded down roof with their feet on the rear leather seats while one of them went through the glove box trying on the customers sun glasses) and trying to get a clutch into a porsche ( i think) with a lump hammer till they discovered it was the wrong clutch!

That fat lad from Doncaster was a brutal mechanic, I wouldn't let him fix a pushbike.
