Sosince this idea as fallen by the wayside I think it needs some one to grab the bull by the horns so I'm stepping up to the plate.

Anyway think it's about time we did a semi regular podcast and thought it would be fun to do. The best way to do it was to record us on an omni directional mic so we can be in the same room and it will be much better. However I've been talking to our drunken mascot atavan halen about it and their pokemon metapodcast and they use an eyetoy for a mic or else we could just do it over skype which we can do for people that can't attend the recording.

So any thoughts on making this happen and anyone got a mic???

Yeah id join in a skype session, has to be NSFW stuff though, I want to be able to talk about, in a completly positive way of corse, to pixilated tits in games!

Myself and my friends recorded a podcast recently, but all we could get to work was a Rock Band microphone :pac: Yeah, you'd probably need something better.

But yeah would be a cool idea to get this up and running.

You should be able to pick up a cheap digital recorder on ebay, something you could take with you on beers nights and the like, they are a glorified USB stick, so transfers are as easy as plugging it into the PC.
I had one a year or two ago, Olympus I think, it was stereo and the audio quality excellent, plus you could pop it down in the middle of a table for a discussion and it still recorded everyone well.
Then you just use a MP3 splitter/joiner and produce a program, simples!

Totally broke at the moment though and omnidirectional mics seem out of my price range. Might check ebay for cheaper ones. Was thinking for the first podcast we could cover Rares N64 output which will sure to be entertaining at the very least.
