speeding whilst on phone

    hello, got caught today doing 74mph in a 60 zone and to make it worse i was on my mobile as well.
    police man said il likely to be brought to court but didnt tell me what my likely points plus fine would be.
    any of yous know what im potentially looking at here.
    its was my first (and last) time getting caught and it was in n.ireland

    You cannot get points if you are a ROI resident. You will get a fine allright. Dont know if you need to pay it though. You would be better off if you drive there a lot.

    Ya....:D. Its 3 points anyway for the phone. Not sure of the fines. If he was any good he would have left you of with one. Must be having a bad day..

    im just goni have to buckle up and learn from it

    a bad day is a nice way of putting it.

    Should have said you were on the phone to the gaurds because you were chasing down a dangerous drunk driver and he just ****ed it up :)

    If you didn't get a fixed penalty notice issued to you at the time, you will be taken to court. For driving while using a mobile phone, you can get 3 points and a fine up to £1000. For speeding, you can get 3 - 6 points & a £60 fine.

    No sympathy.
