RAPE victims should name and shame their attackers online instead of reporting the crime to the police, Germaine Greer said yesterday. The academic and feminist, 71, has for years campaigned for the law on rape to be changed to increase the rate of convictions.

Speaking at the Cheltenham Literature Festival, Professor Greer said: 'I wish there were an online rapists' register and that it was kept up to date, because we know the courts can't get it right.

'When I say that to people, they get so scared, and say "Oh, you can't. What about privacy?" 'Years ago I knew we would never get convictions in a court of law for date rape, so I suggested women kept an online dossier, so if a woman had a date and he did something to her, or frightened her, and she asked him to stop and he didn't, then instead of going to the police she should put him online.

But come on, she's 71 now. I know people 30 years younger or more that don't 'get' the internet, and either think it's full of lawless rogues looking for trouble, or it's policed and everything you read on it is true.

Yes it's great in theory, but in practice it's lunacy.

Hypothetical scenario

Man A pisses person B off. Person B is a spiteful so and so, person B registers Man A as a rapists.
Man A's name is blackened forever

But for such militant feminists the thought of huge numbers of men losing their good name is of no consequence in comparison to the wrath of a scorned woman being satisfied

It's a stupid, unmanageable and highly dangerous idea

It's such a shame that the rape of men by women goes unreported.
I say that we report the rape of men carried out by radical feminsts be reported on the internet. The Gardaí won't take any action, so we need to get the word out that Germain Greer raped me.

Another thing that always bugged me about her, was her book The Boy, not that I found anything wrong with it per se, but ..

If a man wrote the exact same book, and it had similar photos, only the title was The Girl, she would have been screaming for the guy's balls to removed.
