Old Boiler (In Boiler House) - Needs Timer

Hi, I have a really old boiler in a boiler house that only works if I turn it on and off from the switch - there is no timer. I have no idea about anything related to plumbing/heating but I am wondering if it's possible to hook up a timer to this dinosaur somewhere? Thanks!

Generally you put a timer switch before the on / off switch - easily done.

Power feeds the timer, timer comes on, timer feeds the switch then heating comes on.

Well if you're going so far as to get a timer installed, get a digital one. More choice - features like 1hr boost, etc. - and although it costs a bit more, it's exactly the same job to fit.
