Zack may be able to answer this ....

I was watching the premier league on tv last night and decided to go out the back for a smoke, got me thinking about what the pros do during a match.

Do any of them sneak out for a quick smoke between frames?

If they do is it frowned upon?

    Thanks

    Hi
Yeh they used to nip out for a quick fag,one or two players used to even run to the players bar and have a quick drink, saw Jimmy White do it a good few times, venues like the Cruicble and the Guild Hall in Preston were handy as the players bar was right behind the stage doors.
In the days of tobacco sponsorship
everywhere you looked there were packets of cigarettes laying about for players and guests but with the days of Rothmans Benson & Hedges and Embassy now over and with the tobacco ban in effect catching a player smoking is a non runner.
In fact most of the top boys don't touch the fags the only players I can remember having a smoke recently apart from Jimmy White are Dave Harold and Alan McManus.

I've been watching a lot classic snooker frames on Youtube and it's amazing how much the culture of snooker has changed over the last few decades
