Returning an item not as described

If I buy something on eBay with PayPal from Hong Kong for example and it's not as described can I file a claim? I assume I'll be expected to return the item to the seller. If the cost of the item is low is there any point? Can I claim the cost of posting it back as well as the cost of the item?

No and no. You'd have to return it by registered post, otherwise you wouldn't be able to prove receipt, and would possibly lose the claim.

You could claim non receipt if it wasn't sent to you by registered post. That way you are not going to be out of pocket.

That's what I suspected. So if they send me the wrong thing I'll have to be naughty! ;)

If it's not as described or the item didnt match the picture then you are entitled to an exchange or refund but as jor_el (my biological father :D ) said, you have to return it registered post, which is expemsive so youre prob just better off leaving it and trying to find the desired item elsewhere
