    Hi there,

Bit of background info - I set up a website for a friend to use as a promo tool for his music - he had been in a band before and we had been using the domain

    www.oneforthelost.com to host a forum.

The Site I have put up for his solo stuff is also hosted on this domain and was produced using joomla

    www.oneforthelost.com/batkinane

We then bought the domain name www.batkinane.com on godaddy.com and have redirected that to where we have the site.

The hosting is with www.siteground.com who have assured us there is nothing wrong their end.

I havn't experienced a problem with it, but my friend has - on a good few occasions the site appears to be down.

The thing is it shows up as being down on the following too

    http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/oneforthelost.com

Has anyone any ideas what might be the problem? any other info that might be needed ask and i will try and answer

www.batkinane.com instantly failed for me on first click but loaded quiet fast on a refresh. I closed the page - and the exact same thing happened the second time. Looks like some kind of redirect/DNS problem but I don't know enough about either to advise you.

I would advise though, if you are after Irish visitors, that you get hosting in Ireland.

Just noticed your using a frame to www.oneforthelost.com/batkinane instead of a redirect, frames are bad.

You are getting 5 errors on the page which might give you some clues...

Unsafe JavaScript attempt to access frame with URL http://www.batkinane.com/ from frame with URL http://www.oneforthelost.com/batkinane/. Domains, protocols and ports must match.

www.oneforthelost.com/crossdomain.xmlFailed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found)

    Thanks for the replies.

The hosting on siteground is a cost thing at this stage - we had the hosting for another 2 years, so i bought the domain and redirected.

Im not sure about the way it is redirecting, my options were a straight redirect, or a masked one from godaddy.com - is framed another term for masked?

I thought masked would be better - but will change it and see what happens as a result of that.
