Formatting my Harddrive

    Hey all, i wondering how i would go about formatting my harddrive before i reinstall windows on my machine?

    Go into mycomputer, select drive and then Rightclick Format

    If you go for a fresh install windows will give you the prompt for a reformat.

    i did do a fresh install but received no such prompt

    An aternative is to remove the HDD and place it in a USB caddy and format it with another machine. I had to do this recently with a Samsung Netbook when it recieved a nasty virus that would go BSOD at post.

    2. On the Where do you want to install Windows? page, click Drive options (advanced).
    3. Click the partition that you want to change, click the formatting option you want to perform, and then follow the instructions

    but i have two partitions, one is system(198 mb) and the other is C(298 gb), they are both primary partitions, is there anyway i can merge these ones
