just use the 64grain, the cal is going out of fashion anyway for deer
I'm not sure about the north though.

Of the 108 people who shoot deer who answered a pole I posted recently, only 2 used .22/250

Be that as it may, poor ammo availability high ammo costs and lack of knock down power for Big reds in the shoulder was it's hurdle.

I shot loads of deer with the 6.5, however i prefer a 125grain .308 these days as it is flatter shooting, very similar to a .223.

just like the way the .222 has almost disappeared so too will the .22/250

60g is allowed. I was told when my license application was rejected that 64g or 67g were the only permissable weights. When I queried NPWS they said 60g was OK too. Apparently whoever rejected my application because I had put down 55g had checked the new computerized system and only seen 64 and 67 listed on a pull down menu. But you could scroll up and 60g was there too!

Most .22/250 rifles won't shoot anything over 60g with any degree of accuracy and I had to bed my action to get the 60g bullets to group well. I'm going to keep using my .22/250 until they ban it, it works fine for me - No big Reds on my patch, all shots within 100 metres and taken from high seats with firm rests.
