How much for a Storybook album

    We recently got married and I had a local photographer in. He has quoted us £1,000 for a 24 page Storybook album?
    I have googled it and it seems reasonable enough as he showed us one that seemed good quality.
    However just for my own peace if mind, has anyone had experience with this and know if that price sounds ok?

    my suggestion would be to ask this in the photography forum - there's loads of professional wedding photographers there and they'd be able to tell you if it's value or not.

    or maybe borderfox or smelltheglove [both pro's] might stop by here and let you know.

    personally? seems an absolute ridiculous price to pay for a wedding album, unless it includes his fee for the day as well!!! :p

    Everyone has their own pricing and markup, but this does seem a bit excessive.

    I normally do a 40 page quality album for less than half of that, maybe its diamond encrusted or something :)

    It really depends on the album but it sounds a little on the expensive side to me. Again cant be sure without knowing which album it is but my favourite would be the Graphi.

    Haha, I was being nice and then I saw Ike reply. Kind of have the same sentiments there. My graphi would be around half that too, or less. Again though depends on the album

    My 40 page A3 storybook is approx €600, just check whether they quoted 24 double spreads (48 pages) or just 24 pages (12 double spreads) still is quite expensive.

    I think you get the message - we all use high quality suppliers and can all do high quality product for about half of that.

    Presuming you have your photogrpahs on DVD then shop around for your album - many of us on here will do you one for 500 ish - you can see samples and then you can see the final design as a pdf version before it goes to print.

    Shop around and see samples of the quality before you order.
