    Hi everyone,

I have the necessary qualifications in Irish and was hoping to start offering tuition in Irish.

I have looked at three books so far: Scaoil Amach arís é 3, Draíocht 3, Can't think of the other, but I didn't find these books very comprehensive to be honest. They were very colourful etc but didn't find them great!
Any tips would be much obliged!

    Hi,

I'm not too fond of those books, my faves are the fonn ones. I make my own notes for poetry, and I use graimear an draoi for grammar

Most of the books are useless, you usually end up giving the students piles of notes in addition to the textbooks. Saibhreas and Fonn aren't the worst though.

Can anyone tell me where I would get a copy of the film Clare sa Spéir?

    You could also try :
    Flúirse
    Maoin
    Teanga Beo
    Cáirde
These are all Junior Cert books, which split into the different levels after the 1rst year book.

Having said that, there is no Irish textbook on the the market that is perfect or comprehensive. You will need to supplement a lot with notes of your own an extra material. I would follow the exam papers of whichever level you are tutoring very closely.
Clare sa Spéir is available from the dept. as far as I know...

    Go n-eirí leat :)
