    Hi All,

A friend of mine had a recent interviewer ask them, if you had no technology at hand, how would you calculate the number of planes in the sky?

What do you think of that? And how would you answer it?

The question is designed to put you under pressure and see how you react/respond in tough, stress situations, IMHO. Also, depending on the role may help with an appropriate response.

I would respond by asking the question back "How would you calculate the planes in the sky with technology?" That's a really bolshy response.....:p

Yeah its a good question, it stumped me a bit when he said it as I had never come across one of these questions before.

I'd say that you are right, they are seeing how you react in tough situations but perhaps the answer would give them an insight into your personality also and your thinking process.

I once got asked in a interview "What's half of 99? and the interviewer apologised for asking the question before he even asked it!

    Lucky I guessed 49 1/2 ! ;)
